Your weekly round-up of news from around our wonderful Golden Apples Family nurseries is here!
The Beacon, Rendlesham
We’ve had our first glimpses of snow already at the Beacon!
We had a mark-making tuff tray out for the children to explore.
They used sticks and brushes to create their own snowflakes in the ‘snow’.
They also extended this by using their gross motor skills to make snow angels and transport the flour.
The Appletree, Attleborough
This week in Pippins we have a new friend who celebrates the Sinterklass celebration, so we thought we learn about it together.
Sinterklass is St Nicholas' naming day –Sinterklass festival is normally celebrated on 6 December. The children would leave a boot outside with a gift to Sinterklass and sing a song for him. Sinterklass would then swap the gift for sweets and treats for the children to find the next morning.
We had a Sinterklass sensory tray that had some boots in alongside some traditional gifts for both Sinterklass and the children. We had fun exploring putting the things inside the boot and seeing how full the boots got!
To continue our learning at home you could give it ago yourself – leave a boot out with a gift for Sinterklass and see if he leaves you one, too!
Head Start, Ramsey
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
The children came into nursery excitedly discussing the lights switch-on at the weekend.
Santa’s little helper ‘Buddy’ has arrived today to help Santa. Ho! Ho! Ho!
He is the ‘kindness elf’ that has come to stay with us in December, sent directly from Santa Claus himself.
The children were so excited to see him and he even brought along a little treat.
We can’t wait to see what else we get up to together.
The children were very excited and thoroughly enjoyed decorating the tree together and we all enjoyed dancing to Christmas songs.
One of the children used his imagination to build ‘The North Pole’ on the tuff tray and the children were thoroughly engaged in this activity.
